Group Adult Dog In-Person Basic Training

Adult Basic Dog Training is now available!  You do not have to be our client in order to participate, all are welcome.  These courses use positive reinforcement only and are taught by Krishus our dog trainer, with assistance from Jael, our animal behavior consultant.  Group courses take place at Kiwanis Family Park at 1800 Wicker Street Sanford, NC  in the middle of the main loop walking trail.  In inclement weather, meet under the pavilions. 

This course is ideal for new pets, older puppies, dogs who have never had formal training, or who need a good refresher on training.  You will teach your dog the foundations for being a fabulous family pet during the 6-week course:

  • Sit

  • Focus/attention

  • Place

  • Down

  • Wait

  • Target

  • Recall

  • Drop it

  • Leave it

  • Leash Manners

  • Stay

  • Socialize

  • Crate

  • Pet friendly store/grooming procedures

  • Vet office/cooperative care

Requirements for In-Person Group or In-Home Training

  • Dogs must be at least 16 weeks old at the beginning of the course

  • Current Distemper-Parvo Vaccine

  • Current Rabies Vaccine

  • For group courses, current Kennel Cough Vaccine

  • Currently taking Heartworm Prevention 

  • Currently on effective Flea and Tick Control

Proof of veterinarian-administered vaccination is required.  Vaccines do not have to be administered by Family Veterinary Mobile Clinic.  

We have 2 group courses scheduled, both meeting at Kiwanis Family Park, 1800 Wicker Street, Sanford NC:

Thursdays at 6 pm starting on May 12

Mondays at 6 pm starting on May 16

Dogs with behavior problems such as aggression of any kind or anxiety will be referred to Dr. Meghan and Jael for a complete evaluation and behavior modification.
