Family Vet Mobile Clinic firmly believes in diversity. People of color and LGBQTIA+ are encouraged to join our Family!
For students who are looking for pre-vet-tech program experience, we offer ride-alongs with an experienced RVT. Chelsea graduated from a North Carolina Veterinary Technician 2-year program and has been employed in the field as both an RVT and a veterinary assistant in general practice, speciality practice, and now mobile practice. Due to insurance and labor laws, we are unable to allow pre-vet-tech students from participating or handling animals in any way. However due to the nature of our practice, we have plenty of time to discuss cases during our drive in between appointments.
Externships for current veterinary technician students are also available. You will be able to participate in all aspects of veterinary technician duties while learning and practicing Fear Free handling. We will be sure to schedule at least one surgery day in your externship with us.
Pre-Veterinary students are welcome to ride along as well. However the same rules apply to pre-vet students as pre-vet-tech students. It will be an observation only experience.
Veterinary students looking for an interesting 4th year mobile general practice clinical rotation will be allowed to fully participate in all aspects of veterinary medicine as much as the rules allow. There is plenty of time to discuss cases while driving in between appointments. You will be under the direct supervision of Dr. Meghan, who has experience working as an associate in a high-volume low cost general practice, owned and operated a high touch general practice, was an associate in a busy small animal emergency practice, did some relief work, and now is doing the mobile thing!
We do not currently have any paying permanent positions available but check in often. We will be hiring RVTs and associate veterinarians in the near future.
